to Its Former Glory

Bathtub Refinishing FAQs

Why is a different company doing it for a lot cheaper?

In  this type of business, the average price for a bathtub refinish ranges from $650-$1500. Companies offering services are likely cutting corners and using inferior paint materials, which will shorten the life span of the refinished fixtures. Keep in mind that "You get what you paid for.”

What do you have to do before the technician arrives?

We ask that you remove all the accessories and items from around the tub, i.e. bottles, curtains, mobile corner shelves, soap, towels etc.

How long does it take to refinish a tub?

Depending on the condition of the tub, it can take up to 2-3hrs max. If you included the wall tiles to be refinished with the tub it will take approx. 4-6hrs.

When can you use the tub again?

After the job has been completed, you must wait 24 hrs before using the tub.

Is there an odour during refinishing?

The coatings we use contain solvents, which are necessary to make the finish hard and durable. We use a 15-foot (4.57 m) ventilation system to exhaust air from the work area.

While this significantly reduces the fresh paint-like odour, 75% to 90% of the smell will be exhausted and substantially gone within hours.

How does refinishing compare to bathtub liners?

Liners are twice as expensive and can take up to 3 to 4 weeks from ordering to installation. For a bathtub liner, you're looking at spending a minimum of $4000.

Do refinished tubs look painted?

Definitely not! In fact, most people will have a difficult time telling the difference between a new bathtub and a long-lasting refinished tub.

What is included in the price?

All the labour and materials. Old caulking will be removed and replaced with new mould-free caulking. Small chips will be repaired free of charge, big cracks and large chips will cost extra.

Is the paint toxic?

Long Lasting Quick fixtures uses a non-toxic material.
